On Friday the 13th of July 2018, a very lucky group of young people gathered in a beautiful meadow in Bluffdale, Utah, to have fun, play games, and learn a little bit about Buddy Packs. The following photos show the highlights.
The group participates in a discussion about wilderness safety. The girl in the orange shirt is one of the Leadership Team members. She helps train new owners of Buddy Packs, plan activities like this one, and assemble Buddy Packs.
I asked them, “What do you think is the most important thing to do if you get lost, and why?” Every answer was different but well thought out.
For Zach, age 12, it was his lucky day. He won the drawing and got to take home a FREE Teen Kit!
Making lots of noise, otherwise known as whistle practice, is a favorite for most kids.
“Grandma, my practice partner won’t do it with me!”

Relay race: run, blow your whistle, hug your buddy, tie your ribbon, untie it, run back, tag your teammate, cheer for the winner!
Now for the fun part—find a place to be “lost,” follow the Buddy Pack steps, and wait to be found. If you couldn’t come to this one, here’s another chance!
